Our Commitment to Safety

Your safety is our top priority!
At AAS, we are highly committed to ensuring the safety and protection of our team, your employees, and your property while providing our installation, repair, and maintenance services for your AC units and Cooling towers. In the planning phase of each new project, we make a meticulous assessment to determine the potential risks and take appropriate mitigation measures.

At Advanced Air Systems, we understand the risky nature of the HVAC business. That’s why we’re dedicated to safety – for our workers, others at the job site, building owners, and occupants. This commitment helps create safe working environments and a secure workforce that can focus on the job at hand.

Safety Programs

At ASS, we have incorporated several safety programs to comply with the strict safety standards in the HVAC industry and those set forth by OSHA. Our focus is on several key factors: good leadership through weekly monitoring and evaluation by the safety director, motivating workers to participate in compliance with equipment and material handling protocols, as well as hazard identification, prevention, and control.
In addition, our continuous safety training program helps to keep employees updated with safety protocols and the importance of using different communication channels for incident reporting.

To maintain Advanced Air Systems’ safety goals, training begins on day one of employment. Employees complete safety training prior to working on any job site.

Safety Performance Metrics

We are committed to ensuring safe working environments for our employees, your staff, commercial property, and occupants. Therefore, before participating in a project, employees receive safety training that allows them to focus on and understand the potential hazards and take the necessary control measures.
To evaluate the success of our safety programs, we take into account:

  • The lost time injury rate.
  • Employee training hours.
  • The number of equipment breakdowns.
  • The number of incident reports.
  • The number of safety violations.
  • Corrective actions implemented.

Planning for each project begins with safety. Pre-construction meetings are conducted to focus on potential job site safety hazards and ways to mitigate those hazards prior to the Advanced Air Systems crews arriving at the job location. While projects are under construction, site safety inspections are conducted unannounced on a weekly basis by the safety director to ensure compliance with our safety policies and those of our customers, as well as Federal/State Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.

Safety Protocols

Our division promotes strict adherence to safety protocols and industry regulations such as:

  • Protective equipment is a priority: protective clothing, gloves, hard hats, footwear, safety goggles, etc.
  • The use of appropriate equipment and tools at each project stage.
  • Evaluation of the work site to detect and control potential hazards.
  • Safety measures for handling chemicals such as coolant.
  • Taking steps to ensure safe electrical connections.
  • And ongoing training to provide knowledge of new safety protocols.

Safety Culture

Our Safety Division Experts promote different values to consolidate the culture of compliance with safety measures and ensure that employees clearly understand the importance of prevention practices in executing their activities.

Our values are:

  • Assertive communication between employees and safety experts.
  • Care for the health and safety of employees and staff.
  • The responsibility of employees for safety.
  • Teamwork to prevent risks.
  • And continuous learning.

Incident Reporting

In ASS, we have an incident reporting procedure for employees to capture and record any event that occurs during the provision of the service, from injuries to employees or staff or property damage, etc.

We have a form that accurately details the incident, where it occurred, when, at what stage of the project, who was injured, who was there at the time, and a description of the injury or damage.

Once the report is delivered to the safety director or manager, an investigation is opened to implement the necessary corrective mechanisms (improve training processes, enhance personnel management, etc.) and prevent a similar situation.

Training and Safety Education

In compliance with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Act, we have incorporated a safety education program to keep employees updated with safety and precautionary regulations, procedures, and practices applicable to their work areas.
Our training is based on continuous employee education to truly understand the importance of complying with safety standards and the risks and threats to them and the organization for their lack of compliance.
Safety Education is delivered through video, mobile training, and immersive learning measures.
